BlackBerry to launch the KEY2 with physical backlit keyboard on June 7!

BlackBerry just confirmed via Twitter that they will launch a new handset on June 7. According to the image and emojis they used on that tweet, it will be the KEY2.

Based on earlier rumors, the BlackBerry KEY2 with the code name "Athena" and model number "BBF100" will be a pretty interesting mid-range Android smartphone with a 4-row physical backlit keyboard with capacitive touch.

The Athena

It will have a 4.5-inch 1620 x 1080 resolution with 3:2 screen aspect ratio and 433 ppi. Under the hood, it will load with Qualcomm's 64-bit Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and Adreno 512 GPU.

It will also have 6GB RAM, 64GB ROM expandable to 2TB via microSD card, 3,360mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech via USB Type-C port, 12MP dual camera with dual tone LED flash, 8MP selfie camera, 4G LTE w/ VoLTE, NFC, fingerprint sensor, and Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

It measures at 151.4 x 71.8 x 8.5 mm and weighs at 168 g.
