Damaged PH undersea internet cable is the reason of time to time slowdowns
In a recent statement, PLDT and Smart announced that the undersea cable link to Hongkong has been damaged.

It's the reason why their subscribers will experience time to time slowdowns when accessing apps like Facebook, Google, and Netflix. PLDT and Smart apologied and assured its customers that they are taking remedial measures to repair the affected undersea cable.

According to Converge ICT, another telco company, one of the international backbones to Hong Kong was monitored down last April 29. It is the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) cable between the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Converge assured its subscribers that here is no degradation in the speed and quality of its service.
