Counterpoint: Vivo X21 and Huawei P20 lite are the best-selling mid-rangers last May 2018

Based on the latest data from Counterpoint's Market Pulse research, the Vivo X21 and Huawei P20 Lite are two of the best-selling mid-rangers last May 2018.

According to Counterpoint, Huawei grew in its home market and India with P20 and P20 Lite series. At 2.6 percent in total, the P20, P20 Pro, and P20 lite are included among the top sellers.

Only the P20 lite managed to make it inside the top 10 list as an individual device though. The P20 lite is an affordable mid-ranger. In PH, it is priced at PHP 15,990.

On the other hand, the Vivo X21 is an upper mid-range smartphone which gained good momentum with its In-Display fingerprint scanning technology, a first in the industry. Here, the X21 retails for PHP 29,999.

In total, both the X21 and P20 lite are tied at the number 7 and 8 spot with 1.4 percent of the market share each.

The best selling smartphone last May is a surprise. Apple regained the top spot with the iPhone 8. It is tied with Samsung's Galaxy S9+ for the number 1 and number 2 spot.

According to the latest research from Counterpoint’s Market Pulse, Apple regained the top spot in the global best selling smartphone list with the iPhone 8.

The other devices included in the top 10 include the iPhone X, Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus/Note 5, and OPPO A83.
