Coming from the Nova 3 with 2.5D curved glass, Huawei upgraded the material on the Nova 3 with a 3D curved glass. It is designed to provide a better grip like the P20 series flagship smartphones.

Big screen, small body

On the top, it still has a 6.3-inch notched panel with FHD+ resolution. That display has 19:5:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 81 percent. As a result, it has tiny bezels and small body size for the screen size. The size of its frame is comparable to a 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus despite having a bigger 6.3-inch panel.

Dual camera at the back

Under the hood, this device is a beast! It loads with the 2.36GHz 64-bit Kirin 970 octa-core processor w/ NPU and i7 co-processor and Mali-G72 MP12 w/ GPU Turbo. It also has bigger RAM and battery size at 6GB and 3,750mAh respectively.

Dual selfie cam

For photography and shooting videos, it has a better quad camera setup versus the Nova 3i. It now has a brighter and better 16MP f/1.8 RGB sensor paired with a 24MP monochrome sensor w/ PDAF, contrast focus, Master AI, and LED flash.

For selfies, you get a 24MP f/2.0 snapper paired with a 2MP depth sensor. As expected, it also has Master AI, HDR Pro, and screen flash.

It also has the 3D face recognition with 3D Qmoji effects and face unlock tech.

According to Huawei, its 3D face unlock tech is assisted by infrared light to make it work even in lowlight.
