The POCO F1 and Honor Play both has flagship grade processors inside them as well as premium design, great overall specs and build on paper.

Display - The POCO F1 has a 6.18-inch FHD+ IPS display under a 2.5D glass and Gorilla Glass protection. It also has a 403 pixel per inch skin density. The Honor Play, on the other hand, has a 6.3-inch FHD+ IPS display under a 2.5D curved glass with Gorilla Glass protection and a 409 pixel per inch pixel density.

The battle here is pretty close but the Honor Play edges out the POCO F1 just by a  tiny bit. They are virtually tied in this department.

Specs - Starting with POCO F1, it has a 64-bit 2.8GHz Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor, Adreno 630 GPU, 6GB/8GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB/128GB/256GB expandable storage and a 4,000mAh battery.

The Honor Play has a 64-bit 2.36GHz Kirin 970 octa-core processor with NPU and i7 co processor , Mali-G72 MP12 GPU with GPU Turbo, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a 3,750mAh battery.

The edge, on paper, goes to the POCO F1 here. The Snapdragon 845 is faster along with the Adreno 630 compared to the Kirin 970 and Mali-G72 GPU. However, the Kirin 970 has a dedicated NPU and an i7 co-processor. It also has the GPU Turbo technology.

The POCO F1 also has starts at 6GB in terms of RAM and has a bigger variety in terms of storage options. The POCO F1 also has a much bigger battery.

Cameras - The POCO F1 has a 12MP f/1.9 Sony IMX363 sensor + 5MP Samsung sensor with Dual Pixel AF, AI, and LED flash for its main camera while the Honor Play has a 16MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 with PDAF, CAF, and dual tone LED flash.

Again, in this department, they are neck and neck with both showing advantages over each other. The Honor Play has a bigger sensor with a bigger aperture size while the POCO F1 leads in terms of features like the aperture size and Dual Pixel AF.

In terms of selfie cameras, the POCO F1 has a 20MP f/2.0 sensor with AI while the Honor Play has a 16MP f/2.0 sensor. The POCO F1 takes the selfie battle. But, we can't count the Honor Play out in real life.

Other features - The POCO F1 and Honor Play offer some interesting features. The former has an IR Face Unlock and LiquidCool Technology while the latter has the 7.1 channel Histen audio. Both has USB Type-C ports as well as fingerprint sensors.

The POCO F1 takes this one as it offers more in this category.

POCO F1 advantages - Better internal specs overall, bigger battery, IR face unlock, LiquidCool
Honor Play advantages - Slightly bigger display, higher main camera pixels, 7.1 Histen audio

Our thoughts

If the POCO F1 arrives in the Philippines and it is in the same price range of the Honor Play then it will be a great battle for supremacy.

The fact that the Honor Play is packed with amazing specs at only PHP 15,990 is surprising enough then what more if the POCO F1 enters that market.

The POCO F1 offers a lot more on paper in terms of specs and features while the Honor Play has already proven itself to be a beast at this price range.

Both smart phones warrants a recommendation based on specs.

The POCOPHONE F1 has a starting price of PHP 17,990.

We will do an actual comparison.
