Honor has a new mid-ranger with really good specs for the expected price, the Honor 8X. One of its highlights are its cameras.

At the back, it boasts a 20MP f/1.8 primary shooter for lowlight shots paired with a 2MP depth sensor. It also has PDAF, contrast focus, Master AI, and LED flash. For selfies, it goes with a 16MP f/2.0 sensor with AI face beauty.

You can also find some camera features found on the several high-end Honor/Huawei smartphones. It has Aperture, Portrait with bokeh, Pro, and Light painting modes.
It is also the first mid-range smartphone with an AI-assisted handheld long exposure (Night) mode like the Huawei P20 Pro.

The dual-camera setup of the Honor 8X at the back can shoot images with plenty of details and punchy colors even without the AI. It also has good contrast and dynamic range. Lowlight is respectable since it comes with a bright and wide f/1.8 lens.
With AI, it could further enhance the color punch and details of your shots. It can automatically detect the sky, structures, food, pets, and more. But, there are times where it could bee to aggressive.
Fortunately, like other modern Honor phones, you can switch the AI on and off.
For lowlight, the AI-assisted handheld long exposure (Night) mode is superb. It can make you shoot up to 6 seconds long exposure even without a tripod.
The result? Your lowlight shots will look cleaner than most point and shoot camera phones. It'll have less grain/noise and have more details and balanced looking colors.
The selfie camera is quite good too. It is not as great as the 24MP + 2MP selfie cam of the Nova 3i, but it is near the level of the Honor Play selfie.
Overall, we are quite impressed.
