Nokia 6.1 Plus

It's a notched smartphone with very little chin and size bezels. For PHP 15,990, you can get a device sandwiched metal and glass construction and a 5.8-inch FHD+ 19:9 screen with nearly bezel-less display!

But how worth is it of its price?

Here's the first part of our review of the Nokia 6.1 Plus!

Unboxing/Accessories

Inside the box
Inside the box

Inside the box, you can find the smartphone, 5V/3A, 9V/2A or 12V/1.5A USB wall charger, USB Type-A to USB Type-C data/charging cable, SIM ejector tool, earphones, and documentation.

The smartphone is very elusive to hold. You must be very careful on taking it off the plastic covered around it.

Build Quality/Design

Metal and glass construction
Metal and glass construction

We are amazed with the Nokia 6.1 Plus' sandwiched metal and glass construction. It looks very shiny and premium for its price. It's design can compete with other high-end smartphones we have in the market that are made out of plastic. However, it does not feel comfortable to hold because it always feels like it's going to slip out of our hands.

We also like that its display is protected with a layer of an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass.

Although it has a huge screen, the size of the phone itself is not that big. It measures 147.2 x 71 x 7.99 mm which means it's a bit thick compared with other smartphones at its price point. As we've mentioned earlier, it has nearly bezel-less screen with a not that big notch.  However, there is no option wherein we can hide the notch.

The dual rear cameras does not protrude that much so you don't have to worry about it getting scratches.

Nearly bezel-less screen and small notch!

The Nokia 6.1 Plus houses the 3.5 mm headphone jack and an antenna line on top while at on the bottom is where the USB Type-C and grille speakers lie.

On the right side is the volume rocker and power button while on the left is the SIM card tray.

As we've mentioned earlier, only gripe is that the Nokia 6.1 Plus feels slippery to hold. We are not sure if it has an available protective case in the market but it could've been better if Nokia has bundled it for protection and better ergonomics.
