Breaking: Huawei Y9 2019 priced in the Philippines

At Lazada, Huawei revealed the price of the Y9 2019, the newest affordable mid-range of the company in the Philippines.

The highlights

The Huawei Y9 2019 boasts one of the best specs for the price. The body is plastic, but it will come with a premium looking 3D glass back cover at the back. It reminds me of the Nova 3.

In front, you will see a massive 6.5-inch 2.5D 19:5:9 screen with FHD+ resolution. It will come with a notch, but a small type of notch that you can even hide in the display settings. It also has TÜV Rheinland certification to ensure gentle visual experience and reduce blue light to protect your eyes.

Inside, it will come with the 64-bit Kirin 710 octa-core SoC with AI capabilities. It also has the Mali-G51 MP4 GPU with GPU Turbo support to improve gaming on select titles.

We will also get the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage up to 400GB to let you store more files, apps, and games.

Quad-camera setup!

Like the Nova 3i, it has a quad-camera setup. The camera numbers of the Nova 3i is higher. But, the Y9 2019 could be the better low light shooter. It has a 13MP sensor with bright f/1.8 aperture size paired with 2MP f/2.4 sensor. It even has the AIS Super Night mode handheld long exposure feature.

For selfies, you will find a 16MP f/2.0 + 2MP f/2.4 dual-camera setup. As expected, the secondary shooters of the back and front cameras are depth sensors for the bokeh effect.

The cameras also has Huawei's Master AI feature with more than 500 scene types with 22 category labels for real time optimization.

Other features

The Y9 2019 has the face unlock and fingerprint scanning tech for security. It also has 700MHz 4G LTE connectivity, FM Radio, OTG, gyroscope sensor, and dual SIM slots.

The phone boots with Android 8.1 Oreo w/ EMUI 8.2 skin out of the box.
