Nokia, Smart and the Philippine Red Cross collaborate on Nokia Saving Lives Program that aims to provide communications technology and technical assistance to emergency response teams.

Nokia Ultra Compact Network equipment!

The program consists of a drone, a portable rescue application center, a private mobile broadband network and a suite of applications that can be used for real-time data analysis. The said drone is equipped with cameras that capture information in disaster areas in real time. It can also carry small items like first aid kits. 

The drone has a regular camera and an IR camera for low light rescues!

While the portable application center has a computing and storage unit used for real time data analysis. The system uses Smart's 4G LTE connectivity that is based on the Nokia Ultra Compact Network system that creates a secure communications network between drones, other equipment and the rescue team members.

The information gathered and processed can help PRC personnel analyze the needs and the gaps which enables better emergency assistance to communities efficiently and effectively.
