The main highlight of this handset is its selfie shooter found on the tiny waterdrop-like notch on top of the screen.
A feature-rich selfie camera!
At its price point, Honor 10 Lite is probably the only one with a 24MP camera. It's a selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture size, large 1.8μm pixel size, and 4-in-1 light fusion technology that works well even in low light.

24MP AI selfie goodness |
In addition, the selfie camera has AI which can recognize and will automatically optimize 8 selfie scenarios like room, backlight, and more. On backlight mode, Honor 10 Lite will allow you to shoot decent selfies even in against the light situations.

Camera UI and modes |
Even if it isn't a dual selfie shooter, the AI of the Honor 10 Lite is good enough to let you take portrait shots with nice looking bokeh or background blur. It goes with soft lighting, butterfly lighting, split lighting, and stage lighting features.
Honor 10 Lite also has AI skin smoothening and AI skin tone adjustment. It features acne removal, face slimming, light & shadow effect, oily glare removal, eye enlargement, eye bags removal, eyes brightening, and teeth whitening.
It has 10 levels of face beauty as well. Most of the time, face beauty level 3 is decent enough to make you look good without oversmoothening.

AR stickers and filters |
We also noticed that it has AR for selfies. AR can let you put a lot of effects and cool animated backgrounds to add another level of fun on your selfies.

Quick thoughts
By default, Honor 10 Lite shoots selfies with plenty of details, good colors, nice contrast, and good dynamic range.
It even has a good AI HDR (backlight mode) that allowed us to take decent looking against the light selfies.
The face beauty is great until level 3. It could over beautify you above that. The face beauty is useful when you want to hide unwanted blemishes on your skin.
If you want a more natural looking selfies, Honor 10 Lite can also allow you to take that by turning off the AI and the face beauty feature found on the portrait mode.
Speaking of the portrait mode, the bokeh blur is impressive most of the time. Low light selfies are quite good with decent amount of details even without a dedicated flash.
In super dim scenarios, you can always opt to use the screen flash.
Overall, Honor 10 Lite is a powerful selfie shooter. Even on a budget, it has the features that can make it compete very well even against more expensive selfie-centric camera phones.
