#MWC19: Xiaomi MIX 3 5G with SD855 now official!

To start MWC 2019 with a bang, Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX 3 5G. It's one of the world's first commercially available 5G phone!

Meet Mi MIX 3 5G!

One of the first 5G phones in the world

Basically, the Mi MIX 5G has the same full screen design with slider mechanism to hide the cameras and most of the specs found on the regular Mi MIX 3.

With 5G modem

But, it now runs with the newer Snapdragon 855 SoC instead of Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 640 GPU. It also has the X50 5G modem!

Real 5G, not fake 5G

Xiaomi stated that the Mi MIX 3 5G combines the new Qualcomm processor together with its modem with some in-house antenna switching technologies which can reach up to 2 Gbps of download speeds.

First public 5G video call outside of China

During the launch, Donovan Sung, the Global spokesperson, Director of Product Management of Xiaomi also made the first public 5G video call in Europe powered by orange Spain 5G network.

Price and availability

The Mi MIX 3 is priced at EUR 599 or around PHP 35K. That's a pretty promising price tag for a phone with new 5G technology.

There's no word yet when will it be available in the Philippines.
