Leica has recently revealed the Q2. It's a full-frame compact camera with weatherproofing, higher resolution, and more upgrades versus the original Q.

Leica said that Q2 is a "quintessential tool" for light photography, rain or shine without making sacrifices.

New 47.3MP full-frame sensor

Leica Q2 uses a magnesium alloy body an a new 47.3MP full-frame sensor. The sensor has the highest resolution for any camera in this class. It also has the Maestro II image processor, an ISO range of 50-50000, and can shoot up to 10 frames per second.


It also uses the Leica Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens with "optimum picture quality" and "exquisite bokeh characteristics. The camera also offers a built-in crop function that allows you to shoot 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm. The camera can also shoot 4K UHD and Cine4K video.

Behind, the Q2 has a 3.68MP OLED electronic viewfinder with a high refresh rate that minimizes lag. It has a 3-inch LCD TFT screen with 1.04MP of resolution. The camera has 1,860mAh Leica BP-SCL4 lithium-ion battery.

Leica also improved its design to make it more intuitive to use. The camera also has WiFi, Bluetooth LE, optical shake compensation, 13 stops of dynamic range, 14-bit color depth, stereo mic, SDXC memory card slot, compatibility with Leica’s FOTOS app, and more.

It measures at 130 x 80 x 90.9 mm and weighs at 734 grams with battery.

The camera is priced at USD 4,995 (around PHP 261K).
