This smartphone sports a huge display, attractive design, OPPO's newest UI, and as mentioned above, a pop-up selfie camera.

The F11's box is one of the biggest we've seen in an OPPO smartphone. Inside is the unit itself, micro-USB cable, VOOC 3.0 power brick, earphones, and the clear case.

Build Quality/Design

In comparison with its predecessor, the OPPO F9, this smartphone looks and feels more premium. It is still made of plastic but looks and feels like a glass, or to make it more simpler, it sports a  3D "glasstic" back design.

In front, it has a full screen design with an unspecified type of Gorilla Glass protection. Do not expect it to be waterproof as it has moving parts as well.

First off, OPPO F11 Pro boasts a gradient design that looks similar with the Find X. It is available in thunder black and aurora green colors.

The back gradient color features black color on the center along with hints of bordeaux red and and purple on its left and right.

The design is a bit fingerprint and dust magnet though. It is also prone to micro scratches and damages so we recommend to put on the provided case right away.

On top, it features a 6.53-inch 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass IPS screen with FHD+ 2340 x 1080 resolution at 395 ppi. It has a true full screen, notchless, and no hole design with very minimal chin bezel.

The minimal chin bezel is caused by the IPS screen panel design. It measures 161.3 x 76.1 x 8.8 mm.

This is one of the midrange smartphones that has 19:5:9 screen aspect ratio, and 90.90 percent of screen-to-body ratio. Due to its big screen real estate, it looks smaller for its screen size. It doesn't measure as big as those smartphones with big screens.

Apart from the recently launched Vivo V15 Pro, the OPPO F11 Pro's 48MP pop-up camera design is placed on the center top of the smartphone while the competitor's is placed on the upper right.

We also liked how OPPO cleverly hid the earpiece on the edge of the upper screen.

Cleverly hidden earpiece!

The micro USB port for charging, 3.5mm headphone jack slot, and single grille speaker can be found on the bottom of the phone. Sadly, it is still on micro USB and not USB Type-C. Even if it has VOOC 3.0 charging, it would have been better if it has the new USB-C standard port.

Meanwhile the volume rocker, SIM, and microSD slot is placed on the left while the power button is on the right.

I personally liked how the glasstic design has a good grip and doesn't feel like it is going to slip off my hand. It weighs at 190 g.

Initial Findings

1. OPPO F11 Pro features a huge display of 6.53-inch 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass IPS screen with FHD+ 2340 x 1080 resolution at 395 ppi with very minimal chin bezels. It has an attractive 3D glasstic design.

It has 19:5:9 screen aspect ratio, and 90.90 percent of screen-to-body ratio. The display has vibrant colors and very nice sunlight legibility.

2. It is powered by 2.2GHz 64-bit Helio P70 octa-core processor and Mali-G72 MP3 along with 6GB RAM plus 64GB expandable via microSD card slot up to 256GB. It scored almost 150K in AnTuTu Benchmark.

F11 Pro is packed with 4,000mAh of battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 SuperCharge!

3. The F11 Pro runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box along with the Chinese smartphone brand's newest ColorOS 6.0. We instantly loved this latest skin from OPPO because of its clean and very nice UI. The major changes are the icons in the control and notification center.

4. OPPO finally brings the Find X's pop-up camera technology to the mid-range line! The pop-up camera is placed on the center top of the smartphone. At the back it sports a dual rear camera design of 48MP f/1.8 + 5MP f/2.4 with PDAF and LED flash.

However, unlike the competing phone with true full screen, OPPO F11 Pro does not feature a triple rear camera system. But we'd like to commend its 48MP selfie camera featuring pixel binning innovation. It combines four pixels into one therefore producing a 12MP output.

Using data from these four pixels create sharper photos wth better low light performance, dynamic range, etc.

Unlike most phones in its price range, it doesn't have a 3rd wide-angle camera though.

5. The fingerprint sensor of the OPPO F11 Pro is placed underneath the rear cameras. It's still fast and a reliable security option if you don't want the face unlock. However, OPPO is behind in this aspect against its competing smartphone which features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

As of the moment

The OPPO F11 Pro is one the better mid-range smartphones at its price point in the market today.

It looks premium for the price with capable specs, huge screen, 48MP pop-up camera, and large battery. We just wish it is on the USB Type-C already though.

We are excited to do the full tests and see what more the OPPO F11 Pro can do.
