Quick thoughts

Redmi 7's cameras are quite good especially for a budget phone, thanks to its dual-camera setup behind and the Snapdragon 632 processor. Snapdragon 632 has 2x 14-bit ISP which allowed its 12MP + 2MP cameras and the 8MP selfie camera take decent shots.

In daylight, we enjoyed that it has balanced colors and good details with minimal noise. My only problem is that the dynamic range is a bit lacking. But for indoor shots, we were surprised that most of them have vibrant colors and with bright exposure.

Its AI is not as fast as higher-end phones, but works well. The portrait shots that we took has above-average scene detection for the price and the scene detection works 7/10 times. That's impressive for a budget phone.

Low light shots are also acceptable. Obviously, it'll have more noise and lesser dynamic range and exposure, but night shots are still considered as decent. When the AI works, it could give you shots with well controlled lights.

Selfies are important and Xiaomi knows that. They made sure that when the face beauty is off, details and colors of your daylight selfies are close to accurate. The bokeh mode is not as clean compared to the main cameras, but again, it is still considered as decent for the price.

Low light selfies are also acceptable, but it needs a bit of improvement.
