LG releases K40S and K50S with MIL-STD-810G rating

Ahead of the IFA 2019, LG announced two new mid-range phones with MIL-STD-810G durability rating, the K40S and K50S.

These phones are designed to withstand impact, vibration, high temperature, low temperature, shock, and humidity.

LG K40S is the lower-end phone between the two. It uses a 6.1-inch HD+ 1520 x 720 19:5:9 display, unspecified 2.0GHz octa-core processor, 2GB/3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage up to 2TB via microSD, and 3,500mAh battery capacity.

It also has a 13MP PDAF + 5MP ultra-wide dual-cam, 13MP selfie camera, DTS:X 3D Surround Sound, Google Assistant key, WiFi  802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, and GPS + GLONASS.

It measures at 156.3 x 73.9 x 8.6 mm.

K50S

On the other hand, LG K50S has a large 6.5-inch HD+ 1520 x 720 19:5:9 display. Inside, it runs with a 2.0GHz octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, and 4,000mAh battery capacity.

At the back, it goes with a triple-camera setup. It uses a 13MP PDAF main cam, 5MP ultra-wide secondary cam, and a 2MP depth third camera. It measures at 165.8 x 77.5 x 8.2 mm.

The rest of the specs are similar to K40S.

The new phones will come in Aurora Black and New Moroccan Blue. The devices will be available in Europe, Latin America, and Asia starting in October 2019.

There's no word yet on its price and if it will be available in the Philippines.
