Build/Design - Cherry Mobile Omega X has a build consisting of a 2.5D curved glass back with a metal-like polycarbonate frame. The Flare S8 has a curved glasstic design with a gradient colorway.

In terms of build, having a glass back gives the Omega X a more premium feel.

Display - Cherry Mobile Omega X has a 6.2-inch 2.5D curved IPS screen w/ HD+ 1520 x 720 resolution at  271 ppi.

In terms of display technology, both phones sport identical specs. The screen size is almost the same along with the resolution and the notch.

Omega X benchmark score

Specs - In terms of performance, both device sport the same 2.0GHz 64-bit Helio P23 octa-core processor, Mali-G71 MP2 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and 2,800mAh battery.

Since both sports the same specs, you expect the same performance between the two. In fact, the Omega X posted 97,740 points in AnTuTu which is pretty impressive at this price range.

Cameras - In terms of cameras, Omega X has 13MP Sony IMX258 w/ AF and LED flash at the back and 8MP Sony IMX219 for selfies.

Flare S8 has a dual rear camera setup with 13MP f/2.0 Sony IMX258 w/ PDAF + 2MP w/ LED flash. It also has 13MP Sony IMX258 for selfies.

This is where the Flare S8 takes the lead. Its dual-camera setup lends more functionality and features than the single-camera setup of Omega X.

In terms of the selfie, Flare S8's 13MP shooter is expected to perform better than Omega X's 8MP sensor.

Other features - Both devices have 700MHz 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, FM Radio, GPS, GLONASS, dual SIM slots. However, Flare S8 has a fingerprint sensor while Omega X does not.

Our thoughts

Both the Cherry Mobile Omega X and Flare S8 are beasts at under PHP 4K. Both have great design, specs, and cameras for the price.

We think that if the Flare S8 is available in your area then it is the better choice. It has better cameras and a fingerprint sensor to boot.

But if not, Omega X is the next best thing to have.
