Long lines in China as expected

This early success is in spite of the US ban that forced the Chinese tech titan, the world's number 2 smartphone maker to use a version of Android with pre-installed Google apps.

There is even a report stating that the company has already sold CNY 500 million (around PHP 3.6B) worth of Mate 30 phones in just its first minute of sale at VMall.com.

Huawei's success on the new Mate phones is due to its lower local SRP (early buyers get up to 40 percent less than the Euro prices). Chinese users also lack dependence on Google apps and services unlike most countries in the world.

Also, users can install Google Play and its apps if they want. There is a way to install it.

The units that are being sold in China are the 4G variant only for now. The 5G editions with the faster Kirin 990 5G will ship in November.

In PH, Huawei is expected to launch the phone pretty soon.

To recall, the new Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are two of the most exciting flagship phones this year. Both are packed with an aluminum frame, Halo Ring back design for the cameras, Kirin 990 chips, quad Leica cameras, and monster-grade overall specs.

Stay tuned!
