Huawei's new killer flagship phones!

Traditionally, the Mate series is the company's flagship smartphone line for Q4 of the year until early next year.

Both packs lots of improvements in terms of design, processing speed, photography, and videography. It is clear that Huawei is now targeting even the vloggers or those who simply want to shoot better videos using their phones.

The design and screen

Inspired by its partner Leica, the new Mate 30 phones highlights an aluminum frame and "Halo Ring" back design for the cameras.

Mate 30 uses a larger 6.62-inch OLED display with 2340 x 1080 resolution with HDR10 and DCI-P3 support. But, it isn't as curvy as the Mate 30 Pro's display. Huawei call's it a "RIGID OLED" display.

Speaking of Mate 30 Pro, it uses a "smaller' 6.53-inch OLED display with a CRAZY and STUNNING 88-degree waterfall-like curve and a notch. Huawei calls it the "Horizon Display" with 2400 x 1176 resolution.

Like the Mate 30, it has HDR10 and DCI-P3 color gamut. It also has Always On Mode, and support for the M-Pen stylus designed to detect 4,096 levels of pressure, and an In-Display fingerprint reader.

Since its edges are all screen, it doesn't have physical keys anymore.

Huawei replaced it with virtual buttons on the side of the screen with vibrations.

Mate 30 has IP53 splash resistance while Mate 30 Pro/5G comes with IP68 water and dust resistance.

Mate 30 is 76.1 mm slim and weighs at 196 grams. Mate 30 Pro is slimmer at 73.1 mm, but a bit heftier at 198 grams.

Huawei said that it has up to ISO 204800, 45x Zooming Range (Ultra Wide, 3x Optical, 30x Digital), 2.5cm Macro photography, and OIS + AIS Image Stabilization.

On the other hand, the camera setup for Mate 30 Pro is even more exciting.

For the first time ever, a phone maker managed to put two 40MP cameras. It is no easy feat as it will surely require a lot of processing power.
