Impressive specs for a budget smartphone

It is a device that highlights a 19:3:9 6.35-inch HD+ display with a tiny waterdrop-like notch. Inside, despite being a budget phone, it runs with the 11nm 2.0GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor with Adreno 610 GPU.

Memory configurations are the following: 3GB/32GB, 3GB/64GB, and 4GB/64GB. There's a microSD card slot as well to expand its internal memory up to 256GB.

The other exciting thing about this device is it uses a 5,000mAh big battery with fast 18W charging support. It promises 4.5 hours of talk time in just 10 minutes of charge.

For the cameras, there's a 13MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth at the back. For selfies, it has an 8MP snapper.

There is a fingerprint reader behind as well. Of course, the phone has 4G LTE and GPS. It runs with an Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.1 skin.

Vivo also highlights its Ultra Gaming Mode with features such as Sound Localization Training Center, Voice Changer, Game Countdown, Do Not Disturb mode, 4D Vibrations, and eye protection.

It is available in Electric Blue and Thunder Black colorways.

The price? The Vivo U1 with 3GB RAM/32GB storage edition is just priced at INR 8,990 (around PHP 6.6K). The 3GB RAM/64GB storage version is priced at INR 9,990  (around PHP 7.3K) and the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at INR 10,990 (around PHP 8K).

The phone will go on sale in India starting September 29.

There's no word yet regarding its local date of availability.
