On October 10, about 120 app developers residing in the Philippines got the chance to pitch their creations at the Huawei Developer Day in Taguig City for a possibility to be included in Huawei's HMS, the company's growing software ecosystem which aims to improve users' interaction with Huawei devices.

Huawei noted the platform has a whopping 570 million monthly active users as it is present in 170 countries, flaunting essential apps such as AppGallery, Browser, Mobile Cloud, Video, and Themes.

Its AppGallery alone has 390 million monthly active users, with 180 billion downloads per year.

We believe that HMS is the key to strengthening that cohesion, and we encourage developers to experience firsthand how our platform can help them utilize that strength, said Geroge Li, Huawei's country head of Consumer Business Group.

The Chinese tech giant also said it was earmarking USD 1 billion in incentives for developers to build their apps in HMS.

We value collaborative efforts in all forms, and we hope to achieve more milestones with developers who’ll entrust us with their work, Li said.

Although Huawei has been enjoying its status as the second-largest smartphone manufacturer, it continues to bolster its other segments, including wearables, tablets, and laptops.
