Samsung announces up to 12GB RAM with UFS 3.0, designed for mid-range phones!
For future mid-range phones!

Up to 12GB RAM on future mid-range phones

The new chip package is based on the 24-gigabit RAM chips manufactured on a 1y process, the second-gen 10nm class process of Samsung.

The chip package uses Samsung's 24-gigabit LPDDR4X chips to allow Samsung to offer up to 12GB RAM for both flagship and even mid-range devices.

Samsung made it possible by using four 24-gigabit LPDDR4X chips with ultra-fast eUFS 3.0 NAND storage into one single package that will allow manufacturers to put 10+ GB RAM on mid-range devices.

It has up to 1.5x the capacity versus the 8GB package with support for 4,266 Mbps transfer speeds to allow smooth 4K video recording and enhanced AI/machine-learning features for mid-rangers.

Reportedly, Samsung is mass producing two uMCP memory solutions, the 12GB package, and the 10GB package.

The 10GB package combines two 160gagabit chips and eUFS 3.0 NAND.

Samsung said that it will rapidly expand the availability of these packages.

So, we can expect mid-rangers with over 10GB RAM in the near future.
