Surprise: Xiaomi releases Redmi 8 and 8A budget wonders in the Philippines

After releasing the Redmi Note 8 yesterday, Xiaomi continued to surprise the Philippine market as it announced today the availability of the Redmi 8 and 8A.

New budget wonders

In a Facebook post, Xiaomi said the Redmi 8A is available in the 2GB/32GB model, also boasting a massive battery capacity of 5,000mAh. It has 6.22-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. 

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor. Xiaomi also equipped the smartphone with 12MP AI rear camera. 

Redmi 8A

The Redmi 8, meanwhile, has some features similar to the Redmi 8A, including the "Battery Champion" 5,000mAh capacity.  

It also offers 6.22-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor. For its main camera, the device is flaunting a dual camera setup composed of 12MP and 2MP.

Price and availability

The Redmi 8A has a price tag of PHP 5,490, while the Redmi 8 offers a starting price of PHP 6,490 for the 3GB/32GB model and PHP 6,990 for the 4GB/64GB variant. 

Xiaomi said the two smartphones can now be purchased from Mi Authorized Stores.
