What are the features of Huawei MatePad Pro?

Punch-hole displays have been a common theme for smartphones since last year but the Chinese tech giant is introducing this design to tablets. MatePad Pro is the first to feature this screen design, and this is a premium device that is positioned to compete against iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6.

This tablet sports a 10.8-inch AMOLED panel with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. It is also claimed that the bezels come in at just 4.9 mm which results in a 90 percent screen to body ratio. Powered by the 7nm Kirin 990 SoC, MatePad Pro is equipped with a 6GB or 8GB RAM with a storage option of 128GB or 256GB.

For the battery capacity, this has 7,250mAh with support for 40W Huawei SuperCharge, 15W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. This has a 13MP shooter on its rear while an 8MP selfie camera is on the front. 

This device runs by Android 10 with EMUI 10 on top. Moreover, the MatePad Pro features a laptop mode that offers a traditional PC interface and multi-window functionality. The M-Pen stylus is also included for more accurate interaction and drawing.

Huawei is bringing its neat multi-screen collaboration mode which allows you to emulate a supported Huawei phone on the tablet’s screen in real-time. The MatePad Pro also has a laptop mode which brings a more traditional PC interface and multi-window functionality.

The Huawei Mate Pad Pro will be sold in four color options: White, Black, Green, and Orange. The price starts at CNY 3,299 (around PHP 23.8K) for the base 6GB/128GB WiFi trim. 

he 4GLTE versions will start at CNY 3,799 (around PHP 27.4K) for the 6/128GB model and CNY 4,499 (around PHP 32.4K) for the 8/256GB version.

Note: Prices converted are still not inclusive of taxes and duties yet.

It will officially hit the Chinese market by December 12 but the pre-order process starts now. No word yet if this will be available here in the Philippines and other countries. Stay tuned for updates.
