OPPO's ColorOS 7 now official, will arrive with Reno 3 5G this December

OPPO has officially announced the ColorOS 7, the company's latest skin based on Android 10 and it will arrive with Reno 3 5G this December.

The revamped ColorOS 7 introduces a new look, features, and several performance improvements. 

One of the new features include a new focus mode similar to OxygenOS's Zen mode. 

It includes smart features that automatically switch to drive mode when your phone connects to your car's Bluetooth. 

A big new feature is included in half screen feature where it shows small cards that vary from contacts, calendar, and alarms at the bottom of the display instead of the competition's split-screen. 

OPPO also adds a flashback button that when pressed allows users to switch between two apps seamlessly. 

A standout feature is the cross-brand file transfer protocol that was developed along with Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo. 

Other features include a password manager, tweaked camera UI, and improved camera features.

An Android skin with smoother performance

OPPO also stressed that the new ColorOS 7 will offer a 25 percent increase in speed, up to 40 percent better RAM utilization, up to 19 percent improvements in-game framerates over the previous ColorOS 6.

ColorOS 7 is stated to arrive to select devices as soon as next week and the first device to arrive with ColorOS 7 built-in is the Reno3 5G that will arrive in December. However, there are almost no details about the upcoming device.

On November 25, the following devices are scheduled to receive the new Android skin: OPPO Reno, Reno 10x Zoom, Reno FC Barcelona Edition, Reno Ace, Reno Ace Gundam Edition

On December 21, only the Reno2 is scheduled to receive the update.

OPPO Reno 3 5G teaser

OPPO has also teased the Reno 3 5G, but not much information is known about the said device yet. But for sure, it will be an upgraded Reno2 packed with a 5G ready chipset.
