OPPO has just unveiled to new A-series smartphones, the A8 and A91. Both are mid-rangers with pretty good specs for the price.

OPPO A8 is the entry-level offering that packs quite a punch. It comes in Azure and Black colorways and it is probably, it is the most affordable with a 20:9 screen yet. It uses a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS 20:9 notch screen, 12nm MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core chip, 4GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage, and 4,230mAh battery capacity.
For the cameras, it packs a 12MP f/1.8 main camera w/ PDAF, 2MP monochrome camera, and a 2MP portrait camera. It has an 8MP f/2.0 shooter for selfies.
The handset also has a fingerprint scanner at the back, WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and dual SIM slots. It loads with Android 9 Pie OS with ColorOS 6.1 skin. It has the GameBoost 3.0 tech as well.

OPPO A91 reminds us a little of the Reno2 F at the back with Dark Blue, Red, and Gradient colors. In front, it highlights a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ 20:9 screen aspect ratio, a tiny notch, and an In-Display fingerprint reader.
Under the hood, it is powered by the 12nm Helio P70 octa-core processor with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage, and 4,000mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech.
For the cameras, it has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP f/1.79 Samsung GM1 sensor w/ PDAF focus, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, 2MP monochrome camera, and a 2MP depth camera. It even has the Ultra Night Mode 2.0 tech for better low light shots.
The phone also has a 16MP f/2.0 selfie cam, face unlock tech, WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and dual SIM slots. It loads with Android 9 Pie OS with ColorOS 6.1 skin and GameBoost 3.0 tech.
OPPO A8 is priced at CNY 1,199 (around PHP 8.7K) while the A91 retails for CNY 1,999 (around PHP 14.7K). Initially, they will be launching in China first. Pre-order starts on December 26.
