To enhance digital skills for Manileños

The advocacy of the said project focuses on the opportunity to learn the digital skills of every person. This learning can have an impact since it can be useful for the workplace and daily life.

Mayor Isko Moreno shared the reasons behind this advocacy for digital learning. He explained,

I’m a believer in acquiring knowledge. Any knowledge, walang borders. Walang bata, walang matanda. Everybody can acquire knowledge.

Not only students are going to benefit this digital literacy, as the project includes educating senior citizens as well. Yorme mentioned that it is now a new place for senior citizens. He announced to them that they can do Facetime and video calls to communicate with their loved ones abroad.

Aside from the free use of these computers, the Manila City government also provided spaces inside public libraries for educational purposes. Manila residents can conduct group discussions, meetings, and other collaborations.

It is an honor for Acer to partner with the City of Manila in promoting access to quality education. We are proud of Mayor Isko Moreno’s efforts to make digital education more accessible to Manileños and provide opportunities for growth and development through this partnership.

Acer Philippines agreed to donate 42 Acer personal computers and those will be allocated to 11 public libraries in Metro Manila.
