Samsung privately showcased "rollable phone" to its major customers
Yes, a rollable phone, not just the usual foldable phone. It is said to be a 6-inch phone with a flexible display that allows it to expand to an 8-inch mini-tablet. The description reads that the screen "naturally grows" when the button is pressed and it will shrink back down to original size after pressing the button again.
Basically, it is a new type of slider design with a panel rolled up inside. Like the Galaxy Fold, the display is covered with the same plastic material.
The possible advantage of this device is there is no need for two chassis like foldable phones which could result in a slimmer form factor.
Based on the descriptions, LetsGoDigital created a render showing how they imagine the phone to be and it showed that it has a crease-less design.

We are still unsure when will Samsung be ready to mass-produce this very interesting prototype.
Could this new tech revolutionize smartphone form factors? Only time will tell.
See you in two years?
