Custom WiFi 6+ for the P40 series?

Samsung and Xiaomi have released several devices with the new WiFi 6 that highlights several wireless performance improvements. Media from China reports that the Mobile giant is working on WiFi 6+ compatible smartphones and compatible routers.

Huawei's vice-president of mobile product line, Li Xiaolong recently mentioned that WiFi 6 has a theoretical bandwidth of only 1200Mbps with a measured maximum of 900Mbps which means it cannot reach 150MB/s. He added that the current WiFi 6 is actually worse performing than the near two-year-old Mate 20 series.

Chinese experts believe that unlike the Mate 20 series, the Snapdragon 865's WiFi 6 only supports 2x2 MU-MIMO and not 8x8 MU-MIMO.

A recent certification data revealed that the P40 series' Hisilicon Hi1105 is a WiFi/Bluetooth all-in-one chip that will also be the foundation for Huawei's WiFi 6+ standard.
