Huawei Nova 5T screen |
The OPPO Reno3 has a slightly taller AMOLED screen. The Nova 5T has a higher pixel density so the images come out a bit more shaper. Both have FHD+ resolution.
But, AMOLED is AMOLED. The Reno3 renders colors better than the IPS of Nova 5T.
Specs - For performance, OPPO Reno3 has a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio P90 octa-core processor with NPU, PowerVR GM 9446, 8GB LPDDR4X, 128GB UFS 2.1 expandable storage, and a 4,025mAh battery with 20W VOOC Flash Charge 3.0.
Huawei Nova 5T AnTuTu |
Huawei Nova 5T has a lead since the Kirin 980 is a previous-gen flagship-level processor. Both devices have the same amount of RAM and storage.
The only advantage of OPPO Reno3 is the battery size at 4,025mAh, but the Nova 5T has a faster charging tech.
Both also come with speedy 4G LTE connectivity and dual-band WiFi. But., the Nova 5T has up to 4G LTE Cat 21.
OPPO Reno3 quad-camera setup |
Cameras - The OPPO Reno3 has a quad-camera setup with 48MP f/1.8 + 8MP f/2.2 119-degree ultra-wide-angle w/ EIS + 13MP f/2.48 w/ 2x optical zoom + 2MP f/2.4 mono + LED flash. It also has a 44MP f/2.45 selfie camera.
Huawei Nova 5T quad cameras |

For selfies, we will give it to the OPPO Reno3 with a bigger 44MP sensor.
Other features - OPPO Reno3 has an In-Display fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.1, OTG, GPS, GLONASS, dual-mic, Hi-Res audio, Dolby Atmos, and USB-C.
The Huawei Nova 5T has a fingerprint sensor, OTG, NFC, dual-band GPS, dual-band GALILEO, dual-band QZZS, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-mic, and USB-C port.
OPPO Reno3 advantages - AMOLED, In-Display fingerprint sensor, bigger battery, 44MP selfie sensor, Hi-Res audio
Our thoughts
However, the Nova 5T is still a beast, especially for its new PHP 15,990 price tag. Its previous-gen flagship chipset is just hard to ignore.
Update: OPPO also dropped the Reno3 price to PHP 15,990.
