Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus overclocked gaming chip now official!

Qualcomm today unveiled the Snapdragon 865 Plus—the overclocked version of SD865.

The move is similar to what Qualcomm did when they launched the SD855+ version of SD855.

This time, the SD865+ boasts a 3.1GHz Prime CPU which is 10 percent faster than the 2.84GHz of the regular SD865. It also has a 3x Kryo 585 Gold CPU at 2.42GHz and 4x Kryo 585 Silver CPU at 1.8GHz. It also has faster version of the Adreno 650 GPU with 10 percent better performance.

Qualcomm also added a new FastConnect 6900, an upgrade coming from 6800. It enables support for the latest WiFi 6E which works with the 6 GHz band to deliver up to 3.2 Gbps speeds with under 3ms latency. It also has Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX Adaptive at 96 kHz audio and Dual Bluetooth Antenna support.

Like the vanilla SD865, SD865+ supports 144Hz screens, X55 5G modem, Spectra 480, Hexagon 698, and Quick Charge 4.0+ with AI control.

The first two phones that might feature this SoC are the ASUS ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion.
