SKY Fiber will be affected by the AAG submarine cable maintenance too

In a statement, SKY earlier shared that its SKY Fiber subscribers will be also affected by the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) emergency maintenance activities.

AAG submarine cable maintenance effect on SKY Fiber

The subsea international cable will begin its emergency maintenance activities on September 25, 8 AM to September 30, 5 AM.

The effect will be slow connection affecting social media, web browser, and video streaming sites such as Facebook, Google, and Netflix.

SKY noted that the company is working with its technology partners to minimize the effects of this activity on its subscribers.

The Asian American Gateway is the same international cable system that PLDT is using as well.

The said cable system is a 20,000 kilometer-long fiber optic cable network. It does not only connect our country to the US but also to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Guam, and Hawaii.
