At the time of writing, we do not know yet the price of the realme 7i but we expect it to be near the Indonesian pricing.

Let's see how it performs out of the box!

Build Quality/Design

realme 7i's back

realme 7i's design is eye-catching and unique especially this blue to white gradient that covers the back panel and the polycarbonate frame.

A step up in design versus realme 6i!

The back panel is made of glasstic while the front panel is glass. Sandwiched between the two is a polycarbonate frame. realme 7i's back glasstic panel doesn't have the frosted finish that the realme 7 and realme 7 Pro has.

The design is a slight improvement over the realme 6i with a textured back finish.

The SIM tray on the side doesn't have a rubber gasket but it has slots for two nanoSIM cards and one microSD card.

In front is a 6.5-inch IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1600 x 720 that makes navigating thru the UI and or running games a much smoother experience. It is an IPS panel but out of the box, it is bright and vibrant with deeper than usual blacks. Not as deep as AMOLED counterparts though.

The back glasstic panel curves to that make it easier to hold but also made it a fingerprint magnet. In the upper half, the back of the realme 7i is the camera module and the fingerprint scanner.

It measures at 164.1 x 75.5 x 8.9 mm which easily fits in most pants' side pockets. Weighing only at 188 grams, the polycarbonate frame and the glasstic back make the smartphone lightweight but solid. It may slip out easily though.

At the back are the 64MP f/1.8 main rear camera, 8MP f/2.2 119-degree ultra-wide camera, 2MP 4cm macro camera, and 2MP f/2.4 monochrome camera with LED flash.

The camera app features several modes that include Photo, Video, Night, Expert, and More. The app also allows for switching between the ultra-wide, 1x, 2x, and 5x zooms.

As of the moment

handheld

Out of the box, the realme 7i has powerhouse features that include a 90Hz display, 5,000mAh battery, 8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage.

If priced aggressively, this could be a media and gaming powerhouse because of the fast display and the high capacity battery. It even charges via USB Type-C.

Let's not forget about the quad-rear cameras with a 64MP main camera and the 8MP ultra-wide camera while in front is a 16MP selfie camera on the punch hole.

Lastly, the unique colorways are fun and attractive that can make it stand out. Our only concern is the 720p resolution display.

We'll have to reserve judgment until realme announces the price in the Philippines. It shouldn't be too far from the Indonesian price. We will update the article with the price once it becomes available. The launch day is on October 21, 2020.
