Global tech company Xiaomi today launched its newest bang-for-the-buck budget phones called Redmi 9T.

Dubbed as the "new king of entry-level smartphones," Xiaomi noted that the Redmi 9T was designed to deliver good performance and long battery life without compromising on photography capabilities and overall design. In short, it has strong specs for the price.

At the back, Redmi 9T boasts a minimalistic design with rounded corners and anti-fingerprint textured back as well as a splash-proof nano-coating in Carbon Gray, Twilight Blue, Sunrise Orange, and Ocean Green colorways.

In front, it comes with a 6.53-inch FHD+ Dot Drop display with Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 technology to provide protection against scratches and cracks. It also has Widevine L1 (Netflix HD-ready) and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certifications for a more enjoyable viewing experience. 

Under the hood, it uses the capable 2.0GHz 11nm Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor and Adreno 610 GPU. Xiaomi also claimed that it delivers higher performance with less heat production and lower power consumption than previous generations.

It also has an expandable memory of up to 512GB, a 6,000mAh battery, and USB-C 18W fast charging.

The company also noted that it has the MIUI battery saving mode and reverse wired charging capabilities to help maximize all-day, and even multi-day usage.

For cameras, it comes with a total of four shooters at the back. It comes with a 48MP AI main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle-camera, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Redmi 9T is also equipped with a new movie frame feature that gives photos a more cinematic look and feels without editing. It also sports a new time-lapse feature that offers various speed and duration values for shooting so users can capture creative time-lapse photos.

This is also complete with an IR Blaster remote and dual SIM slots.

4GB/64GB - EUR 159 (around PHP 9.3K)
4GB/64GB NFC - EUR 169 (around PHP 9.9K)
4GB/128GB - EUR 189 (around PHP 11.4K)
4GB/128GB NFC - EUR 199 (around PHP 11.7K)

Note: Euro pricing is always higher versus PH SRP.

The units without NFC will be available this January while the NFC variants will be available in February 2020.

There's no word about its local SRP yet, but Xiaomi confirmed that it is coming to the Philippines soon.
