The Exynos 2100 5G processor is a chipset that is created on the 5nm EUV process node. As its name implies, it arrives with a built-in 5G modem.

It is an octa-core chipset with a 1+3+4 core arrangement. There is a prime Cortex-X1 core clocked at 2.9GHz, three high-performance Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 power-efficient core.

Reportedly, this results in noteworthy improvements in CPU, GPU, and even in AI performance. The company stated that the new CPU produces a 30 percent increase in multi-core performance. Meanwhile, the single-core performance had an upgrade of 19 percent compared to its predecessor.

Moreover, the Mali-G78 GPU is claimed to deliver more than 40 percent improvement in graphics performance. This GPU sports 14 cores which are fewer than the 24 cores of the Huawei Kirin 9000.

Samsung said that they added a new feature to Exynos 2100 called AMIGO (Advanced Multi-IP governor) technology. They explained that it "overlooks and optimizes power usages of CPU, GPU, and other processes, allowing longer use time even with intense on-screen activities."

Meanwhile, the new ISP is designed to enable support for camera resolutions up to 200MP. It has support for a maximum of six cameras but it can process four cameras at the same time.

Also, it features an AI to deliver functionalities such as fast and seamless recognition of objects, scenes, and faces. Content-aware image processing helps adjusts dynamic range, exposure, noise, sharpness, white balance, and color. All of these combined can result in superb images.

Lastly, the Exynos 2100 entails support for 4K recording at 120 FPS and 8K playback at 60 FPS. It also the first chipset to have an AV1 decoder for 8K video.

This chip expected to appear Galaxy S21 series, but there's no confirmation yet from Samsung's end. The company just said that this chipset is already in mass production.
