World's largest mobile chipmaker MediaTek today announced the Dimensity 900 5G SoC.
The MediaTek Dimensity 900 is a 6nm chip with 8 percent better power efficiency than its 7nm counterparts. It uses an octa-core design with ARM Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.4GHz, Mali-G68 GPU, built-in 5G modem with WiFi, 4K HDR playback, up to 120Hz FHD+ display support, real-time HDR composer (SDR to HDR), HDR10+, LPDDR5 support, and UFS 3.1 storage.
The 5G it has goes with up to 2CC CA 120MHz spectrum 5G, FDD + TDD CA, true dual 5G SIM, and the latest VoNR services. It also has WiFi 6 with a 2x2 antenna on a mid-range chip. MediaTek also said that it has the company's exclusive MediaTek 5G UltraSave technologies for even better power efficiency.
The chip also features 4K HDR Video Capture Hardware with 3DNR + MFNR noise reduction and up to 108MP camera support.
In general, it is a promising mid-range chip based on specs.
The Taiwanese tech giant has yet to reveal when will it be available devices yet.
