Android TV users can now enjoy shows from Apple TV+

Beginning June 1, the Apple TV app is now available on all modern Android TV devices. Nvidia revealed this information as the app arrived on its freshly launched Shield TV. However, Google clarified that Apple TV is released for the Android TV OS ecosystem.

According to Google, any Android TV device running 8.0 Oreo or higher that’s not an operator-tier device has access to Apple TV starting today. Before, the app was only present on Sony Bravia TVs and Chromecast with Google TV.

This time, any brand of modern Android TV will have an access to the service. Aside from that, the app is also available for the typical streaming box or stick. The source confirmed that a Hisense television running on the standard Android TV platform can download the app.

The Apple TV app features Apple TV+, a video subscription service featuring Apple Originals, including series like Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, For All Mankind, and Servant. It also includes movies like Greyhound, Palmer, and Wolfwalkers.

By using the app, users can enjoy Apple TV channels, such as AMC+, Paramount+, and Starz, watch ad-free and on-demand, directly on the Apple TV app. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share subscriptions to Apple TV channels using their personal Apple ID and password. They also gain access to personalized and curated recommendations, a library of movies and shows purchased from Apple.

The Apple TV app also works with the built-in Google Assistant for hands-free control of the television. Users can do simple voice commands to pause, rewind, fast-forward, and more.

You can download the Apple TV app on Google Play Store.
