TECNO outs PHANTOM X with 3D curved OLED screen and 50MP 1/1.3 inch large sensor

TECNO today has introduced its first premium-looking smartphone of the year called the PHANTOM X.

PHANTOM X is a device boasting a 3D curved back design with Gorilla Glass 5 protection in Starry Night Blue and Monet's Summer colors and a 3D curved Gorilla Glass 5 protected display. This screen is a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and FHD+ 2340 x 1080 resolution at 385 ppi.

The other features that make this device appear premium is its use of a Liquid Cooling system to dissipate heat, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and 4,700mAh battery with USB-C 33W Flash Charge tech that can charge its battery from 0 to 70 percent in 30 minutes.

This device also has powerful cameras starring the 50MP 1/1.3 inch large sensor with Full Pixel Dual-Core and Laser Focus. It is assisted by an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide-angle + 13MP 50mm portrait + Quad Flash. It also has up to 20x digital zoom, Super Night View 3.0 tech, 960fps slow-motion support, and 4K time-lapse video capability.

For selfies, it uses a 48MP + 8MP ultra-wide-angle + Selfie Flash Light setup.

TECNO also highlights that it has the "Hey Ella" voice assistant and Live Transcribe functions.

The only thing that didn't scream premium here is its use of the mid-range 2.05GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G95 octa-core processor and Mali-G76 3EEMC4 (900MHz) GPU. Obviously, there's no 5G connectivity as well.
