Despite concerns about smartphones supplies and vendor shakeups, the global smartphone market showed resilience with an overall growth of 13.2 percent in Q2 2021. Xiaomi had the biggest leap in terms of ranking by bagging the 2nd spot for the first time ever.
According to IDC's report, Xiaomi recorded 53.1 million in shipment volume for Q2 2021 and 86.6 percent YoY growth. It also recorded a 16.9 percent market share in the same period as well. This is second only to Samsung with 59 million shipments and an 18.8 percent market share. |

This is confirmed by a market research analysis report from Canalys that shows Xiaomi's stats with 52.8 million shipments, 17 percent market share, and over 83 percent YoY growth. The same statistics who up in reports from Strategy Analytics and Counterpoint. Overall, Xiaomi recorded the highest growth rate among all the brands. |
