New Fight Night game may come out after UFC 5

EA Sports Fight Night soon to see light again?

The new boxing game has an internal codename of "Moneyball". It is already in its early development stages via EA Canada. However, the studio paused the development in favor of concentrating resources on the development of UFC 5. UFC 5 is set for a late 2022 launch date.

Another reason for Fight Night's development progress is that EA Canada is having trouble with hiring additional staff for it due to "strong marketplace competition". Fight Night was supposed to be developed alongside UFC 5 in a similar roadmap and timeline. However, EA did not want to split senior creatives between the two games which could result in sub-par games.

Boxing superstars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua already have in-game models already from the UFC 4 pre-order bonus. In addition, former promoter Eddie Hearn claimed that he already pitched a modern Fight Night game to EA.

The popularity of the Fight Night franchise is undeniable. A prospect of a new boxing game is sorely needed as the market is missing this since Fight Night Champions was released in 2011.

What do you guys think?
