Android 12 (Go edition) now official—now faster and smarter than last generation!

Google just announced that Android 12 (Go edition) is now official. As we all know, the Go edition is catered and designed for entry-level devices.

Android 12 (Go edition) promises to be a faster, smarter, and more secure version of the lightweight OS. Android 12 (Go edition) has the ability to launch apps up to 30 percent faster compared to previous iterations. It will also have faster and smoother animations, SplashScreen API, app hibernation with notifications for longer battery life, and a new Files Go app with a 30-day recovery period for deleted files. The Recent Apps screen in Android 12 (Go edition) also has the option to listen to the news and translate on-screen content into your preferred language as well. 

You may save data by sharing apps directly with nearby devices via Nearby Share and Google Play. When it comes to lending your device, Android 12 (Go edition) makes it simple to switch to a guest profile before allowing others to use your phone. You can also reset that profile once the person with whom you lent it has finished using it. To make this process easier, profiles will be accessible immediately from the lock screen.

The new Android 12 Privacy dashboard is also available in the Go edition, giving you a quick view of which apps are accessing sensitive data. The privacy indication in the status bar is also back, letting you know when apps are accessing your microphone and/or camera. Another feature of Android 12 that has made it to the Go edition is approximate location permissions.
