Better safety and health precautions from Grab Philippines

As of January 2022, the Philippines is experiencing a resurgence of COVID cases, with daily new cases exceeding 30,000. The Department of Health has also stated that incidences of the highly contagious Omicron variant have been documented in the country.

Following these developments, Grab Philippines reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the highest level of safety and cleanliness across its platform by taking certain steps. First, it aims to enhance the company's COVID assistance fund for its vaccinated Drivers and Delivery Partners. With this, Grab is increasing its COVID assistance fund by 4x to cover the potential loss of income and medical expenses of fully-vaccinated drivers.

Next, Grab Philippines is promising continuous strengthening of safety and hygiene measures on mobility and delivery services. It will expand its GrabProtect Program to include a weekly mandatory COVID testing for unvaccinated drivers and delivery partners starting January 17, 2022. Next, Grab Philippines is also encouraging vaccinated drivers and delivery partners to get their booster shots as well. Regular sanitization and disinfection of vehicles will also be required.

Lastly. there will be discounted GrabCar rides to and from vaccination centers. The Philippines expands its GrabCar Bayanihan effort by offering Filipinos safe, dependable, and inexpensive transportation to and from vaccination centers. Individuals who are finishing their vaccinations, as well as those who are getting their booster doses, can use GrabCar Bayanihan.
