Better telco service deals with Globe, GCash
Under the partnership, OFWs with Globe Prepaid and TM SIMs can register roaming promos using GCash.
In a statement, the telco highlighted its first-ever GCash-exclusive roaming offer, the Roam All Net 99.
Globe said OFWs can save more than PHP 4,200 on roaming calls and texts by tapping the said promo. Overseas Filipinos only need to spend PHP 99 per day to enjoy 30 mins of outgoing and incoming calls and 30 all-net texts.
For their families residing in the Philippines, Globe said it also readied International Direct Dial (IDD) promos in GCash services, making sure that calls are "crystal clear".
Through Globe’s GOCALL IDD offers, families of OFWs get up to 80 minutes in call credits to North America and Asia, and 40 minutes to Europe and Africa.
Globe and GCash have a shared proposition of empowering the OFW community to remain in control of their finances and stay connected with their families while abroad. Now, sending money and paying for expenses of those back home, plus subscribing to roaming offers can all be done in just one app, said Coco Domingo, Globe vice president for Postpaid and International Business.
Globe's Roam Surf data packs, meanwhile, provide free GCash access, allowing OFWs to tap the mobile wallet to remit funds to their families for free and access other financial services
With GCash, sending money requires fewer details than bank transfers and can be done securely via mobile, it said.
Globe said GCash has remittance partners in more than 31 countries worldwide.
