Kingston Technology is the top SSD brand in 2021
Kingston Technology said today that it finished 2021 on top of the Channel SSD Unit market share. Due to continuous expansion in the client, enterprise, and OEM sectors, SSD demand remained to trend upwards through Q4 2021. Kingston also expanded its offering in October, introducing the KC3000 and Kingston FURY Renegade, two new high-performance M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSDs.
According to market share statistics from analytics firm TRENDFOCUS, Kingston was the number one client SSD vendor in the channel in 2021, with a unit market share of 22.2 percent and 22.3 million clients SSDs supplied. Despite continued component shortages, Kingston's client SSD market share increased to a significant 26.8 percent in Q4, demonstrating solid yearly unit growth.
Total client SSD units increased 12.4 percent YoY in 2021, according to TRENDFOCUS. The quick adoption of SSDs by clients, mostly owing to performance, size, and lower power consumption resulted in a 12 percent YoY growth in notebook PC units and a 1 percent increase in desktop PC units during the same time. Kingston says that it maintains a competitive edge by collaborating closely with its suppliers, partners, and customers to be flexible and adapt to changing market situations.
