Build Quality/Design

Sleek back
Sleek back

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is made of a Gorilla Glass Victus protected front, metal frame, and a frosted glass back panel. This rear panel is fingerprint smudge resistant but is still slippery. The frame and the back glass panel curve to making the phone easy to hold despite its size.

Premium materials like most flagships!

Because of the combination of glass, metal, and polycarbonate, the phone is premium to hold and look at.

As expected, the daylight images are good It managed to reproduce the sunny summer conditions of the day of the shoot while retaining plenty of detail and sharpness. The contrast is good but the colors are too close to real life. It may need a hint of saturation.
Selfie daylight

For selfies, the 32MP f/2.45 sensor teams struggle with light sources or bright areas in selfies, the blue skies were turned to white. Otherwise, the image is super sharp with plenty of detail and good contrast. It does need a hint more of saturation.

For videos, the rear camera can capture up to 8K 24fps in quality while the selfie camera can capture up to 1080p only.

We will share more camera samples in our full review.

Stay tuned!

As of the moment

This is easily the most eye-catching and premium-built Xiaomi phone to date. We can see why it commands the PHP 48,999 price tag.

On paper, it is one of the few smartphones with the flagship 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 at under PHP 50K.

It also features a 120Hz QHD+ E5 AMOLED LTPO display with Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It even has fast UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM. The 4,600mAh battery is large and charges fast with 120W fast charging.
Initial AnTuTu score
Initial AnTuTu score

These specs managed to score at least 854K in AnTuTu with a 9.5-degree increase in temperature and a 10 percent loss in battery percentage. It does reach 51.6 degrees which are hot to hold which is somewhat alarming.

And let's not forget the triple 50MP rear cameras and 32MP selfie camera.

So even though it is priced at PHP 48,999, it features better specs than a lot of phones with a higher price tag.

We are very excited about further testing the phone so stay tuned for the full review coming soon.
