Huawei P50 w/ 50MP True-Chroma Color Camera launched in PH, priced at PHP 39,999!

A few months after first releasing the PHP 52,999 P50 Pro in the Philippines, tech giant Huawei revealed that the vanilla P50 is also coming.

A compact and more affordable high-end Huawei smartphone in PH!

The vanilla Huawei P50 is boasting a slightly more compact body with a flatter overall look instead of a 3D curved one.

On the back, it is sporting a curved glass material with an anti-fingerprint magnet matte-like finish and a hump containing two large circles housing its camera system.

6.5-inch OLED goodness

In front, it is using a 6.5-inch 2.5D curved OLED screen with up to 90Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 2700 x 1224 resolution at 456 ppi. It also has an In-Display fingerprint reader on the lower portion of the screen and a punch-hole on the top-center housing its 13MP f/2.4 Wide Angle camera.

Similar to the Huawei P50 Pro flagship, the Huawei P50 also sports the 4G version of the 5nm Snapdragon 888 chip. This was Qualcomm's top-of-the-line chip last year. Unfortunately, unlike all non-Huawei high-end phones, it is only 4G capable and there is no 5G.

The chip is paired with 8GB RAM, 256GB expandable storage via NM card slot, and a 4,100mAh battery with USB-C 66W SuperCharge tech.

The back cameras? It is also highly capable. The device features the Leica-enhanced 50MP f/1.8 True-Chroma Color Camera with True-Focus Fast Capture tech like the P50 Pro. But, it has no OIS. Instead, the company added the AIS Pro True-Steady Shot tech.

It also has a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP f/3.4 Telephoto Camera with AF and OIS. Upon checking, it can do up to 50x digital zoom. From the ultra-wide camera, the total zoom range is 80x.
