ROG Phone 6, Phone 6 Pro with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 165Hz AMOLED screen now official
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 series is now official following its virtual launch event. It features the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a 165Hz AMOLED screen.

In terms of design, the ROG Phone 6 series still maintains the gamer-style looks with lots of accent lines and an RGB accent piece. It also features a horizontal, rectangular bump housing the triple-camera system. It is IPX4 splash resistant as well. It also still features the Air Trigger 6 with new features such as Dual Action, Press and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming.
In front, both of the devices feature a 6.78-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms pixel response rate, HDR 10+, and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. The ROG Phone 6 Pro has the ROG Vision secondary display at the back as well.
There is a 3.5 mm headphone connection as well as symmetrical seven-magnet twin speakers that fire forward for perfectly balanced stereo sound effects in the GameFX audio system. The ROG Phone 6 series speakers were co-engineered with Dirac for sound optimization. The Dirac Virtuo spatial audio solution is available on the ROG Phone 6 and uses patented techniques to improve the overall sound quality of the smartphone's built-in speakers while enabling immersive stereo sound.
For lag-free gaming and lossless audio streaming, the ROG Phone 6's Snapdragon Sound technology offers extremely low latency processing, allowing gamers to hear every nuance of their song just as the artist intended.
Inside, both will feature the 4nm 3.2GHz Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core processor, Adreno 730 GPU, up to 18GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 6,000mAh battery with 65W HyperCharge technology.
In terms of cooling, it features the new and improved GameCool6 Cooling System with BN Thermal Compound, 30 percent larger 3D vapor chamber, 85 percent larger graphite sheets, Thermoelectric AI Cooling System, and AeroActive Cooler 6.
For cameras, both will feature a triple-camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor + 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor + macro sensor with LED flash. For selfies, it has a 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor.
Other features include WiFi 6E, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and USB-C.

The ROG Phone 6 series is available in Phantom Black and Stormy White. The Pro version is only available in the latter though. Local price and availability are yet to be confirmed. We will update you as soon as we get more information.
