HUAWEI Mate50E with SD778 and 50MP XMAGE camera announced!

HUAWEI just launched the Mate 50 series earlier, and alongside that is another member called the Mate 50E with the SD700 series chipset.

HUAWEI Mate 50E joins the series!

Having the Mate on its name, its shares a lot of similarities with its siblings such as premium design, display size, and even the main camera sensor with XMAGE tech on it. However, it is unclear yet whether this phone also enjoys satellite technology like the others have.

The phone has a 6.7-inch OLED panel with 2700 x 1224 FHD+ resolution and P3 wide color gamut. However, the refresh rate is toned down to 90Hz but retains the 300Hz touch sampling rate and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

Inside, it uses a weaker processor called 6nm 2.4GHz Snapdragon 778 SoC with Adreno 642L GPU. It also has 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage options.

The battery is powered with a 4,460mAh size which charges using USB-C and 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge power adaptor.

As mentioned above, it also carries the 50MP super optical camera with f/1.4 aperture with OIS. However, the coupled sensor was replaced by a 13MP ultrawide angle with 10x digital zoom and LED flash. Meanwhile, the selfie shooter uses 13MP with ultrawide capability as well.

The phone's pricing

Other features mentioned were the 3D face recognition and In-display fingerprint scanner for security.

For connectivity, it has 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS.

While the operating system will be HUAWEI's own Harmony OS 3.0.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

HUAWEI Mate 50E 8GB/256GB - CNY 4,499 (around PHP 38.9K)

Just like its sibling, it is now available for pre-order in China. However, there's no clear information yet on when it will arrive in the Philippines.
