Ookla says Smart provides top mobile network speeds for Q3 2022

According to Ookla's tests of Speedtest Intelligence data for Q3 2022, Android, Apple, and Samsung users in the Philippines had connections to Smart that were between 35 and 75 percent quicker than those of the next-best mobile carrier, whether using 5G, LTE, or any other network technology.

According to Ookla's data, Android handsets performed 59 percent quicker on the Smart network than on the next-best competitor network across all technologies, and up to 35 percent faster on Smart LTE.

iPhones recorded speeds that were 75 percent faster on the Smart network (all technologies), 57 percent faster on Smart 5G, and 56 percent faster on Smart 4G/LTE. In contrast, Apple devices were 75 percent faster on the Smart network (all technologies), 57 percent faster on Smart 5G, and 56 percent faster on Smart 4G/LTE.

As a final point, Samsung devices performed 69 percent quicker on the Smart network across all technologies, 58 percent faster on Smart 4G/LTE, and 45 percent faster on Smart 5G.

The most recent Ookla statistics follow on the heels of Smart's historic distinction as the best mobile network in the Philippines, the first and only local mobile operator to do so since Ookla's Speedtest Awards debuted in 2017.

Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Coverage were the two most important Ookla Speedtest Awards categories that Smart had to win from Q1 to Q2 2022 in order to receive this elusive award. With a Speed Score of 62.22, Smart beat out its closest rival, which had a Speed Score of 32.48, to claim the title of "Fastest Mobile Network." With a Coverage Score of 794, Smart outperformed its closest rival's 732 in the "Best Mobile Coverage" category.
