CES 2023: LG unveils Z3, G3 and C3 OLED evo series with all new a9 Gen 6 processor!

New Year, New TVs!

At CES, LG introduced the new G3, C3 and 8K-capable Z3 OLED evo series TVs equipped with the new a9 Gen 6 processor that supports AI upscaling, HDR tone mapping and object-based picture sharpening. The same chip allows the TVs to deliver 9.1.2-channel surround sound from the built-in speakers.

The new Z3 flagship TV will come in either 77-inch or 88-inch 8K screens while the new G3 comes with a zero-gap design that makes it perfect for wall-mounting. It will be available in sizes between 55 inches to 97 inches. The C3 on the other hand will come in sizes between 42 to 83 inches.

Surprisingly, the A-series has been discontinued. The company now considers the B3 series as its entry-level OLED offering. It is ideal for gamers on a budget. It will come with the a7 Gen 6 chip and will not come with brightness boosting. However, it will still offer 4K at 120Hz and will come in sizes between 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch panels.

This year's TVs will also integrate seamlessly with the latest LG Soundbars that are said to produce IMAX-enhanced surround sound powered by DTS:X. They will also support HDMI 2.1a connections for gaming.

Lastly, LG says that the new WebOS 23 platform will now require significantly less scrolling with just two pages of app content. There will be fewer categories and the new "quick cards" will help users to dive into categories like sports and music faster. Personal profiles, customizable quick settings and AI-based search keyword recommendations tailor the experience to the user's tastes. While Matter support should help users to set play well with compatible smartphone devices.
