LTO begins online vehicle registration renewal

In a social media post, Land Transportation Office Chief Assistant Secretary Jose Arturo Tugade said that vehicle owners can already renew their registration anywhere as long as there is an internet connection.

He said vehicle owners just have to have an account on the Land Transportation Management System to process the renewal through the online portal.

Tugade also noted that prior the transaction, concerned individuals must first secure a certificate of coverage or insurance chosen by the vehicle owner. They should also ensure that their vehicle was already inspected at the Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Center.

Both the validated insurance and the motor vehicle inspection report (MVIR) will be electronically sent to the LTMS, he added.
